Soil based organisms are microbes that live in the soil. They release powerful enzymes that sterilize the soil of putrefying bacteria, thus preparing the soil to support new plant growth. Without SBO the soil would be overrun with yeasts, molds, fungi, Candida, and other organisms that antagonize plant growth and reproduction.

SBO stimulates production of at least 16 of the 20 known subspecies of alpha interferon. This appears to be the reason SBO benefits chronic degenerative conditions like Hepatitis B and C, influenza, and chronic fatigue syndrome. This ability to increase alpha interferon subspecies output greatly increases T-lymphocyte production and augments the anti-viral capability of the immune system.

Lactoferrin is produced by SBO. This enables iron to be retrieved from food by binding to lactoferrin. This binding to lactoferrin is injurious to yeasts, bacteria, viruses, and parasites, which cannot get access to iron which they need on a continuous basis.
